This position is responsible for performing all duties and functions of Distribution Tech II in addition to overseeing the activities of the Distribution Department in the absence of Supervisory staff, ensuring all customer needs are met on a timely basis.

Monday through Friday - 7:00 pm to 3:30 am.
Essential Functions:
· Upholds a customer service level that ensures every attempt is made to meet the following internal and external customer needs: friendliness, understanding and empathy, fairness, options and alternatives, and information. · Monitors and acknowledges orders via on-line ordering system. · Receive incoming calls. Handle all communication in courteous and professional manner. · Classify and process orders according to urgency. Arrange for appropriate transportation. · Accurately select and process units requiring product modification. Perform irradiation processing when required. · Stock products in an orderly manner when released to inventory. Stock and reorganize other products/supplies as required. Inspect and appropriately handle inventory returned from customers. · Perform equipment checks and maintain equipment. Prepare and maintain blood shipment boxes. · Manage incoming specimens: assist internal customers with transportation needs, inquires and requests, where possible · Maintain accurate and complete records. · Facilitate interstate shipments, including waybill completion and entry of imported units into the computer system. · Manage nonconforming product. Unsuitable product for example, recalls, quarantine unsuitable returns according to applicable procedure · Accurately select units and pack orders to maintain acceptable temperatures for shipment. Perform visual inspection of units prior to shipment. Ship miscellaneous transfusion supplies. Ship biohazard orders appropriately. · Appropriately respond to all system alarms · Select and ship all Biocare Orders. · Order supplies as needed from the Purchasing department. · Perform irradiation quality control as need. · Perform monthly inventory of Biocare products. · Help organize the relocation of products during an emergency event. · Is available on call as needed to assist the department. · Monitor inventory in center and at hospitals, minimize outdates by proper products utilization. · Assist in organization during batch quarantine events. · Perform shipment quality control as needed. · Support organizational quality efforts by working and counseling staff on any nonconformance that may occur. · Oversee the traffic and work flow of the department. · Is responsible for scheduling staff sufficient to meet the needs of the department. · In conjunction with the Department Manager and Executive Management, oversees the management of the inventory of blood, blood components, plasma derivatives and other products for customer use. · Assist in the coordination of production planning with Donor Services, Component Laboratory, and Outpatient Apheresis Department. · Maintains prompt and regular attendance. · Exemplifies CBC’s Customer Service Mission and Core Values.

Education and Experience:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of two years previous experience with computerized inventory management system preferred.
Minimum of two years previous customer service experience preferred.
Licenses and Certification:
Must complete and maintain U.S. Department Of Transportation: Transportation of Infectious Substances Certificate.
Must complete and maintain U.S. Department Of Transportation: Hazmat Transportation Security awareness training.

FDA, CLIA, OSHA regulations.
AABB standards.
All applicable CBC procedures.
Inventory Management, for example, First In First Out, inventory rotation ect.
